Creekview defeats North Mesquite

The Creekview boys’ basketball team concluded the Plano Tournament with an outstanding defensive effort resulting in a 49-36 victory. Leading scorers were Destin Ogueri with 13 points and Ali Zia with 12 points. The Mustang record is now 9-10. All three boys basketball teams continue district play at home against Mesquite Poteet on Thursday, January 3rd. The freshman game begins at 5:30 in the small gym, while the JV plays at 5:30 in the big gym followed by the varsity at 7:00.

Second Round Results of the Plano Tournament

It was another heart stopper today in the Plano Tournament for the Creekview Mustangs. Playing against a highly ranked Southeast Oklahoma City team, the Mustangs battled to a second straight overtime game. Unfortunately, Creekview lost by a score of 67-64. Leading scorers for the Mustangs were Ian Spaight with 18, Desmond Funches with 12, and Ali Zia with 10. Creekview concludes the tournament tomorrow at 11:00 at Plano West Senior High against the loser of a game between North Mesquite and Flower Mound Marcus. The Mustang overall record is now 8-10.

Mustangs Take Host School Plano to Overtime but Come up Short

The Creekview varsity boys’ basketball team battled the host school Plano in the Plano Tournament this afternoon. It has a hard fought game as both teams took leads throughout. The game eventually went to overtime with Creekview falling up short by a score of 54-49. Leading scorer for the Mustangs was Ian Spaight with 15 points. Creekview will battle Southeast Oklahoma City tomorrow at 11 at Plano West Senior High. The Mustang record is now 8-9.

The Creekview varsity boys' basketball team will compete in the Plano Tournament today, December 27th through Saturday December 29th. The Mustangs will play the host school Plano at 5:00 tonight.

Mustangs Sweep Forney

It was another great night for the Creekview Mustangs boys’ basketball team as all three teams beat Forney in the District 10-4A opener. In the varsity game, the Mustangs led throughout in a 63-50 win. Leading scorers were Alex Rincon with 21 points and Ali Zia with 19 points. Creekview’s overall record is now 8-8 and 1-0 in district. In the JV game, the Mustangs held on for a 63-60 victory. Leading scorers were Desmond Funches with 15 points, Zuri Davis with 12, and Patrick Wood with 11. The JV record is 7-5 and 1-0 in district. The freshmen Mustangs started strong and never looked back in a 74-25 win. Leading scorers were Keimone Davis with 17 points and Jarmez Zuber with 16. The freshmen record is now 5-5 and 1-0 in district. All three teams are off for 5 days for the holiday break. The varsity will resume competition on December 27-29 at the Plano Tournament. All three teams will resume district play on January 3rd at home vs. Mesquite Poteet.

District Opener Today

The Creekview Mustangs open district play this afternoon with games at Forney. The freshman game starts at 3:00 in the auxilary gym. The JV starts at 3:00 in the main gym followed by the varsity at 4:30.

Coaches vs. Cancer Night Results

It was a great night in Mustang gym tonight as all three boys’ basketball teams beat Prosper in the 5th Annual Coaches vs. Cancer Night. In the varsity game, the Mustangs pulled away in the 4th quarter and beat the Eagles 50-42. Leading scorers were Ranjit Mason with 17 points and Ali Zia with 15. The varsity record is now 7-8. The JV played a close game and also won the 4th quarter to win 45-38. Leading scorers was Peter Moseti with 21 points. The JV record is now 6-5. In the freshman game, Creekview won handily by a score of 51-34. Leading scorers were Brendan Arnold and Keimone Davis with 17 points and Jarmez Zuber with 11 points. The freshman record is now 4-5. All three teams begin district play next Friday at Forney.

Coaches vs. Cancer Night

Please come out to support our boys’ basketball teams tomorrow night and help fight cancer in the 5th Annual Coaches’ vs. Cancer game against Prosper. All donations from the game will go directly to the American Cancer Society in the fight to stop the disease that has affected so many of us. Players, cheerleaders, and coaching staffs will wear pink to signify their support, and both coaching staffs will wear tennis shoes to join thousands of coaches nationwide as a universal sign in the fight against cancer. The freshman game will start at 5:30 in the small gym. The JV game will start at 6:00 in the big gym followed by the varsity at 7:30.

Results at Frisco Heritage

The Creekview Mustangs varsity basketball team couldn’t withstand a substantial 2nd quarter run by Frisco Heritage and lost to the Coyotes 74-56. Leading scorers for the Mustangs were Alex Rincon with 17 points and Ali Zia with 15. The varsity record is now 6-8. In the JV game, a strong second half comeback bid fell short as the Mustangs lost to Frisco Heritage 41-36 bringing their record to 5-5. The leading scorer was Desmond Funches with 22pts. In the freshman game, Creekview was victorious by a score of 62-52. Leading scorers for the Mustangs were Brendan Arnold with 19 points, Carson Hudspeth with 13 and Keimone Davis with 12. The freshman record stands at 2-5. All three boys’ teams will play at home vs. Prosper in the 5th Annual Coaches vs. Cancer game. All donations from the game will benefit the Jimmy V Foundation and the American Cancer Society.

Varsity results vs. Ranchview

It was a frustrating night for the Creekview Varsity Boys’ basketball team as a red-hot shooting Ranchview team beat the Mustangs 66-56. Creekview kept battling the whole night, but the Wolves continuously hit big shot after big shot to thwart the rally. Leading scorers for the Mustangs were Ali Zia with 17 points and Ian Spaight with 12. The Creekview varsity record is now 6-7. The Mustangs will be in action next Tuesday night at Frisco Heritage.

Thursday Results from 9/JV Creekview Classic Tournament

In the first round of the Creekview 9/JV Classic Tournament, the JV Mustangs beat Plano Vines by a score of 43-32. Leading scorers were Peter Moseti with 16 points and Desmond Funches with 10. The Mustangs automatically advance to the championship game on Saturday at 6:00. The JV record is now 5-3. In the freshman first round game, Creekview came up short to Plano Vines by a score of 41-28. Leading scorer was Keimone Davis with 14 points. The freshman Mustangs will play in the consolation championship Saturday at 11:30 Saturday. The freshman record is now 1-4. The Creekview Classic will continue tomorrow with second round games.

Creekview Classic Starts Today

The 9th/JV Creekview Classic Tournament is today through Saturday. This is a fundraiser for the Creekview basketball program, so please come out to help and/ or support our Mustangs. All games today and tomorrow will be at Creekview, while all Saturday games will be at Blalack Middle School. The Creekview 9th grade team will play today at 7:00 in the small gym, while the JV will play at 8:15 in the big gym.

Mustangs win in overtime

The Creekview varsity boys’ basketball team had to work overtime to seal a victory at Wiley this evening. With 4 seconds left in regulation, Ali Zia made 2 clutch free throws to send the game in to overtime. From there, a bucket from Ranjit Mason along with two free throws by Dylan Kittrell pushed the lead to three. A desperation shot from a Wiley player to tie the game circled the rim and fell out to give the Mustangs the victory. Leading scorers were Mason with 20 points and Zia with 16. The varsity record is now 6-6. In the JV game, the Mustangs also needed an extra 4 minutes to win. Jordan Funches hit a 3 pointer with .6 seconds left in overtime for the win. Leading scorers were Funches with 20 and Peter Moseti with 12. The Creekview JV record is now 4-3. In the freshman game, Creekview lost a tough one 55-45. Leading scorers were Brendan Arnold with 18 points and Keimone Davis with 16. The freshman record is now 1-3. The Freshman and JV will compete in the Creekview Classic Tournament this Thursday-Saturday while the varsity will play at Ranchview Friday at 7:30.

Results from Saturday of CFBISD Classic

The Creekview Mustang varsity boys’ basketball team concluded the CFBISD Classic with a win over Dallas Samuell at Newman Smith High School. All team members contributed to the 55-29 victory. Leading scorer for the Mustangs was Alex Rincon with 12 points. Creekview’s record is now 5-6. All three Mustang teams play at Wylie Tuesday night. The freshman game starts at 5:30 in the auxiliary gym. The JV starts at 6:00 in the main gym followed by the varsity at 7:30.

Second Round Results of CFBISD Classic

Last night in the second round of the CFBISD Classic, Creekview got off to a slow start against the 10th ranked 5A team in the state, Hebron, and couldn’t recover despite outscoring the Hawks in the second half. The final score was 73-51. Leading scorers for the Mustangs were Dylan Kittrell with 13 points and Ian Spaight with 12. Creekview’s record is now 4-6. The Mustangs conclude the tournament today at Newman Smith versus Dallas Samuell at 1:30.
