Creekview Results vs. Mesquite Poteet


The Creekview varsity boys’ basketball team traveled to Mesquite Poteet in a district contest this afternoon and were defeated by a score of 48-36. Leading scorer was Desmond Funches with 13 points. The varsity record is now 5-9 overall and 1-1 in district.

                The JV fell behind in the first half early, and fought back to within single digits in the second. However, Poteet went on to win by a score of 54-40. Leading scorers were Keimone Davis with 19 points and Brendan Arnold with 13 points. The JV record is now 4-7 overall and 1-1 in district.

                The freshman Mustangs beat Poteet for their 2nd district win. Leading scorers were Adrian Munoz with 14 points and Aaron Davis with 13. The freshman record improves to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in district. All three teams will host Highland Park on Friday.

Allen Tournament Results

The Creekview Mustangs varsity concluded the Allen tournament with a 50-44 loss to Bishop Lynch. Leading scorers for the Mustangs were Will Romaine with 19 points and Destin Ogueri with 11. Creekview’s  record is now 5-8. All three Mustang teams continue district play on Tuesday afternoon at Mesquite Poteet.

Allen Tournament Results- Day 2

The Creekview Mustangs continued play in the Allen Tournament today. After trailing by 10 at halftime, the Mustangs battled back against a very good Rowlett team and sent the game to overtime. However, some clutch shots in overtime sent Rowlett to a 60-57 victory. Leading scorer for Creekview was Ranjit Mason with 23 points. DeAndre Abram had 16. The Mustang varsity record is now 5-7. Creekview will finish tournament action tomorrow at 1:00 versus Bishop Lynch.

Mustangs Compete in Allen Holiday Tournament- Day 1


The Creekview Mustangs varsity basketball team opened competition in the Allen Holiday Tournament today. Playing against the 18th-ranked 5A team in the state and the tournament host, Creekview got behind early and couldn’t rebound in a 66-40 loss to Allen. Leading scorers were Ranjit Mason, Desmond Funches, and DeAndre Abram with 8 points each. In the second game of the day, the Mustangs showed heart and resiliency in a 59-55 win over Mesquite. Leading scorers were DeAndre Abram with 13 points and Will Romaine with 12. Creekview’s record is now 5-6. The Mustangs will continue tournament action tomorrow at Allen at 4:00 versus Rowlett.

All Three Mustang Teams Open District with a Win


The Creekview Mustangs varsity opened the district season with a win against Forney. The final score was 48-37. Leading scorer was Will Romaine with 14 points. Larry Hughes had 8. The varsity record is now 4-5 overall and 1-0 in district.

                The JV opened district with a dominating 57-23 win. Leading scorers were Keimone Davis with 18 points and Brendan Arnold with 13. The JV record is now 4-6 overall and 1-0 in district.

                The freshman Mustangs also won going away by a score of 57-16. Augustine Ene led the freshmen with 17 points while Adrian Munoz had 11. The freshman record improves to 8-2 and 1-0 in district. The varsity will play in the Allen Tournament starting on December 26th while all three teams continue district play on December 31st at Mesquite Poteet.

Creekview Results vs. Hebron


The Creekview varsity and JV basketball teams traveled to take on cross-town rival Hebron tonight. The varsity gave the defending 5A Regional Finalists all they could handle, but came up on the short end of a 50-42 score. Leading scorer for the Mustangs was Desmond Funches with 12 points. Tre Kidd, Destin Ogueri, and DeAndre Abram all finished with 8. Creekview’s record is now 3-5.

                The JV lost to Hebron tonight 55-34. Leading scorer was Carson Hudspeth with 12 points, and Brendan Arnold had 7. The JV record is now 3-6. All three teams open district Friday afternoon at home vs. Forney.

9th and JV Results from the Creekview Classic

        The Creekview 9/JV Classic was a huge success as the proceeds from the tournament contributed to the overall basketball program. In addition, both Creekview teams played well. The JV fought strong, but lost to tough opponents in the first two rounds. However, they put everything together and won comfortably against Naaman Forest on Saturday.
      The 9th grade team had two dominating wins in the first two rounds of the tournament, advancing to the championship game on Saturday. In a well-played back and forth game, the Mustangs fell one point short to a talented Plano Clark team. The 9th grade team represented the host school with pride, earning the second place trophy.

Varsity Results vs. Richardson


The Creekview varsity boys’ basketball team cut an 18-point second half deficit down to three with less than 2 minutes remaining, but could not overcome some timely free throw shooting to a playoff-tested Richardson team, who won 69-60. Leading scorers for the Mustangs were Destin Ogueri with 18 points and Desmond Funches with 15. The Creekview record is now 3-4. The varsity will play at Hebron at 7:30 on Monday.

Creekview Results vs. Frisco Heritage


The Creekview Mustangs varsity lost to state-ranked Frisco Heritage tonight 61-34. Leading scorer was Desmond Funches with 8 points. The varsity record is now 3-3.

                In the JV game, Creekview lost a nail-biter by a score 60-57. Leading scores were Keimone Davis with 26 points and Conner Julian with 13. The JV record is now 2-4.

                The freshman team continued their momentum with a 61-25 victory. Leading scorers were Adrian Munoz with 23 points, Augustine Ene with 10, and Dorian Stratford with 9. The freshman record improves to 5-1.

                The freshman and JV will compete in the Creekview Classic Tournament Thursday-Saturday, while the varsity plays Friday at Richardson.

Mustangs at Home Tonight vs. Frisco Heritage

Despite all the weather issues, all three Creekview Boys' Basketball teams will play tonight at home vs. Frisco Heritage. The freshman game starts at 5:30 in the small gym. The JV game starts at 6:00 in the big gym followed by the varsity at 7:30. Please come out and support your Mustangs.

Creekview Results vs. Wylie


It was a disappointing night for the Creekview varsity basketball team as Wylie upended the Mustangs 50-48. Leading scorer for Creekview was Ranjit Mason with 15 points. The varsity record is now 3-2. The Mustangs will play at home Thursday in the first round of the CFBISD Classic against Irving Nimitz.

                In the JV game, Wylie defeated the Mustangs 51-41. Leading scorer was Keimone Davis with 9 points. Their record is now 2-3. The JV will compete in the Prosper Tournament starting on Thursday.

                The freshman Mustangs continued their dominance by beating Wylie 56-18. Augustine Ene led the Mustangs with 21 points, while Aaron Davis had 10. The freshman record is now 4-1.

Creekview Results vs. RL Turner


It was a great night for the Creekview Mustangs basketball team as all three teams beat RL Turner. In the varsity game, the Mustangs got off to a slow start but turned up  the heat and won by a score of 58-39. Leading scorers were Ranjit Mason with 14 and DeAndre Abram and Larry Hughes with 12 each. The varsity record is now 3-1.

                In the JV game, Creekview won by a score of 62-37. Leading scorers were Brendan Arnold with 15 points, Conner Julian with 11, and Keimone Davis with 10. The JV record is now 2-2.

                The freshman Mustangs won by a score of 66-16. Leading scorer was Adrian Munoz with 19 points. Their record now improves to 3-1. All three teams play at home vs. Wylie on December 3rd.

Creekview Results vs. Prosper


It was a tough night for the Creekview varsity boys’ basketball team as Prosper handed the Mustangs their first loss of the season by a score of 61-46. Leading scorers for Creekview were Ranjit Mason with 11 points and DeAndre Abram with 10. The varsity Mustang record is now 2-1.

                In the JV game, Creekview lost by a score of 61-24. Leading scorers were Hayden Ellis with 5 points and Carson Hudspeth with 5. The JV record now falls to 1-2.

 
              The freshman Mustangs played an outstanding game and won 53-34. Augustine Ene led in scoring with 21 points while Adrian Munoz had 17. The freshman record improves to 2-1. All three teams play at RL Turner on Tuesday.

Mustangs open home season with win


The Creekview Varsity Boys’ basketball team opened the home season with a hard-fought 54-50 win over The Colony. Leading the Mustangs in scoring for the second straight game was Will Romaine with 15 points. Destin Ogueri also hit the double figure mark with 14 points. The Mustang record is now 2-0.

                In the JV game, Creekview was beaten by a score of 67-42. Leading scorers were Hayden Ellis with 11 and Aly Shah Punjani with 10. The JV team is now 1-1 on the season.

                The Freshman Mustang team  evened their record to 1-1  with a dominating 40-12 win over The Colony . The Mustangs were led by Augustine Ene with 19 pts. and Adrian Munoz with 9.

                All three Creekview basketball teams play at Prosper on Friday.

Mustangs Open the Season with a Victory


The Creekview Varsity Boys’ basketball team opened the season Tuesday night with a dominating 66-40 win at Little Elm. The short-handed Mustangs, playing with only 8 players, blew open the game in the 2nd quarter and cruised to the victory. Leading scorers were Will Romaine with 22 points, DeAndre Abram with 19, and Destin Ogueri with 13.

                In the JV game, Creekview opened the season with a 56-48 win. Leading scorers were Augustine Ene and Adrian Munoz with 19 points each. Aly Shah Punjani added 12.

                The freshman Mustangs played their hearts out, but came out on the losing end by a score of 47-39. Leading the way in scoring was Aaron Davis with 12 points. All three Creekview teams open the home season Tuesday, November 19th against The Colony.

Alex Rincon and Ian Spaight selected to play in NTBCA All-Star Game

Seniors Alex Rincon and Ian Spaight have been selected to play in the 2013 North Texas Basketball Coaches' Association All-Star Game. The game will be played on Saturday, May 4th at 2:00 at Hebron High School. This is an outstanding honor for the two and a great representation for Creekview basketball. Go Mustangs!

Ian Spaight to sign with Oklahoma Wesleyan

Senior Ian Spaight will offically sign to play college basketball at Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Wednesday, April 24th. The signing wil take place at Creekview High School in room B100 at 3:00.

Spring League Changed to Plano Senior High

The JV and Varsity will now compete in the Plano Senior High Spring League instead of Denton Guyer. The league will be on Monday and Wednesday nights starting on April 10th. The cost is still $35 per athlete. Money is due no later than April 8th. Definite schedules will be given out when they are received.

All-District Honors

The Creekview Boys' basketball team had multiple selections on the District 10-4A All-District Team. Seniors Alex Rincon and Ian Spaight were both named to the 2nd Team. Larry Hughes was named the Sophomore of the Year in the district. In addition, Desmond Funches, Larry Hughes, Johnny Jones, and Will Romaine were named to the Academic All-District Team. Way to go Mustangs!!

The Boys' Basketball Banquet will be held at Indian Creek Golf Club on Sunday, April 7th at 6:30 pm. All basketball players are encouraged to attend. There is a $10 charge for students and a $20 charge for adults. All players received an invitation, and there is also a link on the basketball main webpage. Creekview Results vs. Newman Smith

The Creekview Boys’ Basketball team finished the season with a 74-59 loss at home vs. Newman Smith. Leading the Mustangs in scoring was Alex Rincon with 17 points, Ali Zia with 16, and Ian Spaight with 15. Creekview finished the year with a 12-20 overall record and 4-10 in district. The JV finished the year with a 48-38 loss. Peter Moseti led the JV in scoring with 14 points. The JV’s overall record was 12-13 and 6-8 in district. The freshman basketball team ended the season with a 58-33 win. Keimone Davis had 13 points and Jarmez Zuber had 10 to lead the Mustangs. The freshman ended the year with a 14-9 overall record and 10-4 in district. The Creekview coaching staff would like to thank all players for their hard work this year and especially the seniors for their four years of commitment to the program.

Creekview Results vs. West Mesquite

The Creekview Mustangs varsity basketball team played a district ball game at West Mesquite this evening. The Mustangs battled with the Longhorns all night long but came out on the short end of a 71-59 defeat. Leading Creekview in scoring was Ranjit Mason with 19 points and Alex Rincon with 14. The varsity overall record is 12-19 and 4-9 in district. In the JV game, Creekview lost by a score of 48-43. The Mustangs were led in scoring by Peter Moseti with 14 points and Eddie Cecena with 15 points. This brings the Mustangs to 12-12 overall and 6-7 in district play. The freshmen beat West Mesquite by a score of 53-39. Brendan Arnold scored 20 points and Keimone Davis scored 12 points to lead the Mustangs. The freshman record is now 13-9 overall and 9-4 in district. All three teams conclude the season Tuesday night at home vs. Newman Smith. This is also Senior Night for the varsity team honoring the six seniors on the team.

The Creekview Mustang Boys’ basketball teams played at North Forney tonight in a district contest. It was a tough night for the varsity as North Forney pulled away in the 4th quarter for a 58-45 win. Alex Rincon led the Mustangs in scoring with 19 points. The varsity is now 12-18 overall and 4-8 in district. The JV Mustangs won vs. North Forney 54-51. The Mustangs where led by Peter Moseti and Eddie Cecena with 14 points each and Zuri Davis with 13. The JV is now 12-11 overall and 6-6 in district play. In the freshman game, North Forney won 50-37. Keimone Davis led the freshman team with 10 points. Their record is now 12-9 overall and 8-4 in district. All three teams play the final road game of the year this Friday at West Mesquite.

All three Creekview Mustangs Boys’ basketball teams defeated Terrell at home tonight. In the varsity game, it was a team win as 9 Mustangs scored and all contributed. Leading Creekview in scoring were Larry Hughes with 14 points and Ian Spaight with 10. The Mustangs’ record improves to 12-17 overall and 4-7 in district. The JV Mustangs defeated Terrell 59-31. Peter Moseti scored 17 points, Zuri Davis had 14, and Naushad Lalani finished with 12 points. The JV record is now 11-11 overall and 5-6 in district. The freshman team beat Terrell 60-36. Leading scorers were Keimone Davis with 17 points and Conner Brubaker with 11. Overall the freshman team is 12-8 and 8-3 in district. All three teams travel to North Forney on Tuesday.

The Creekview Mustangs Boys’ basketball team took on district opponent Highland Park at home this evening. Against a team the Mustangs lost to by 32 the first game, Creekview battled with all their hearts to narrowly avoid a big upset win. A three pointer at the buzzer rimmed out for the Mustangs that would have sent the game into overtime. Leading scorers for Creekview were Ian Spaight with 15 points and Alex Rincon with 12. All Mustangs everywhere should be proud of the effort. Creekview’s overall record is 11-17 and 3-7 in district. In the JV game, Creekview lost by a score of 61-41. Leading scorers were Peter Moseti with 15 and Zuri Davis with 10. The JV record is 10-11 overall and 4-6 in district. The freshman Mustangs lost by a score of 49-44. Leading scorers were Jarmez Zuber with 13 and Keimone Davis with 12. The freshman record is 11-8 overall and 7-3 in district. All three basketball teams host Terrell on Friday.

The Creekview Varsity Boys’ basketball team traveled to cross-town rival Newman Smith and led up until 4 minutes were left in the game. Unfortunately, an experienced Smith team closed with an outstanding run to win the game 78-63. Leading scorers were Alex Rincon with 17 points and Ian Spaight with 16. The varsity record is now 10-15 overall and 2-5 in district. The JV Mustangs lost to Smith by a score of 52-47. Leading the way for Creekview was Eddie Cecena with 24 points. The JV record moves to 10-8 overall and 4-3 in district. The Creekview freshman team continued their winning streak with a 59-32 win over Smith. Leading scorers were Brendan Arnold with 16 points and Jarmez Zuber with 12. The freshman record goes to 10-6 and 6-1 in district. All three teams begin the second round of district play with home games against Forney on Tuesday night.

Creekview results vs. West Mesquite

The Creekview Boys’ Basketball team hosted state-ranked West Mesquite this evening. It was an exciting ball game as both teams played outstanding. Unfortunately, the Mustangs came out on the wrong end of a 80-73 score. Leading scorers were Ian Spaight with 26 points including 8 three-pointers. Alex Rincon had 13 points and Larry Hughes scored 10. Creekview’s record overall is 10-14 and 2-4 in district. In the JV game, the Mustangs had a great defensive effort and won by a score of 40-36. Leading scorer was Peter Moseti with 24 points. The JV record is 10-7 overall and 4-2 in district. The freshman team dominated West Mesquite by a score of 54-32. Leading scorers were Keimone Davis with 23 points and Jarmez Zuber with 10. The freshman record is 9-6 overall and 5-1 in district. All three Mustang teams play at Newman Smith on Friday.

Creekview Results vs. North Forney

The Creekview boys’ basketball teams played a home district game against North Forney tonight. In the varsity game, the Mustangs battled but unfortunately came up on the short end of a 53-48 North Forney victory. The loss gives Creekview a 10-13 overall record and 2-3 in district. Leading scorers were Ian Spaight with 13 points and Alex Rincon with 12 points. In the JV game, Creekview was victorious by a score of 61-49. Leading scorers were Eddie Cecena with 15 points, Peter Moseti with 14, and Riley Pfiester with 11 points. The JV record is now 9-7 overall and 3-2 in district. In the freshman game, the Mustangs won 43-30. Leading scorers were Brendan Arnold and Keimone Davis with 14 points apiece. The freshman overall record is 8-6 and 4-1 in district. All three teams play at home vs. West Mesquite on Tuesday the 18th.

Creekview Sweeps Terrell

The Creekview Boys’ basketball teams visited Terrell tonight and came home with a sweep. In the varsity game, the Mustangs held on for a 57-55 victory. Leading scorers were Alex Rincon with 15, Ian Spaight with 14, and Ali Zia with 10. The varsity record is now 10-12 overall and 2-2 in district 10-4A. The Creekview JV defeated Terrell by a score of 44-32. Leading scorers were Peter Moseti with 12 points and Zuri Davis with 10. The JV record is 8-7 overall and 2-2 in district. In the freshman game, the Mustangs won 55-50. Leading scorers were Brendan Arnold with 15 points, Keimone Davis with 11, and Reynel Previlon with 10. The freshman record stands at 7-6 overall and 3-1 in district. All three teams play at home vs. North Forney on Friday. The freshman game starts at 5:30 in the small gym. The JV game is at 5:30 in the big gym followed by the varsity at 7:00.

Creekview Results vs. Highland Park

The Creekview Mustangs took on Highland Park today in a district matchup. It was a tough afternoon for the Mustangs as the Scots won 72-39. Leading scorers were Ian Spaight and Ali Zia with 9 points. The varsity overall record is 9-12 and 1-2 in district. In the JV game, Highland Park won 55-45. Leading scorers were Peter Moseti and Conner Julian with 10 points. The JV overall record is now 7-7 and 1-2 in district. The freshman Mustangs lost 60-27. Leading scorer was Cal Rakovan with 9 points. The freshman overall record is 6-6 and 2-1 in district. All three teams travel to Terrell on Tuesday in a tripleheader in the main gym. The freshman game starts at 5:00, followed by the JV at 6:30, and the varsity at 8:00.

Creekview Results vs. Mesquite Poteet

The Creekview Mustang varsity boys basketball team fought hard against Mesquite Poteet but ended losing by a final score of 44-36. Leading scorers for Creekview were Ali Zia with 10 points and Desmond Funches with 9. Creekview’s record is now 9-11 overall and 1-1 in district play. The JV Mustangs lost to Poteet 46-37. Leading scorer was Conner Julian with 11 points. The JV record is now 7-6 overall and 1-1 in district. The Creekview freshmen beat Poteet by a score of 50-36. Leading scorers were Carson Hudspeth with 14 points and Keimone Davis with 11. The freshman overall record is now 6-5 and 2-0 in district. All three teams have a quick turn around and play Highland Park this Saturday afternoon. The freshman game starts at 10:30 with the JV at noon and the varsity at 1:30.
