Creekview Results vs. Mesquite Poteet


The Creekview varsity boys’ basketball team traveled to Mesquite Poteet in a district contest this afternoon and were defeated by a score of 48-36. Leading scorer was Desmond Funches with 13 points. The varsity record is now 5-9 overall and 1-1 in district.

                The JV fell behind in the first half early, and fought back to within single digits in the second. However, Poteet went on to win by a score of 54-40. Leading scorers were Keimone Davis with 19 points and Brendan Arnold with 13 points. The JV record is now 4-7 overall and 1-1 in district.

                The freshman Mustangs beat Poteet for their 2nd district win. Leading scorers were Adrian Munoz with 14 points and Aaron Davis with 13. The freshman record improves to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in district. All three teams will host Highland Park on Friday.

Allen Tournament Results

The Creekview Mustangs varsity concluded the Allen tournament with a 50-44 loss to Bishop Lynch. Leading scorers for the Mustangs were Will Romaine with 19 points and Destin Ogueri with 11. Creekview’s  record is now 5-8. All three Mustang teams continue district play on Tuesday afternoon at Mesquite Poteet.

Allen Tournament Results- Day 2

The Creekview Mustangs continued play in the Allen Tournament today. After trailing by 10 at halftime, the Mustangs battled back against a very good Rowlett team and sent the game to overtime. However, some clutch shots in overtime sent Rowlett to a 60-57 victory. Leading scorer for Creekview was Ranjit Mason with 23 points. DeAndre Abram had 16. The Mustang varsity record is now 5-7. Creekview will finish tournament action tomorrow at 1:00 versus Bishop Lynch.

Mustangs Compete in Allen Holiday Tournament- Day 1


The Creekview Mustangs varsity basketball team opened competition in the Allen Holiday Tournament today. Playing against the 18th-ranked 5A team in the state and the tournament host, Creekview got behind early and couldn’t rebound in a 66-40 loss to Allen. Leading scorers were Ranjit Mason, Desmond Funches, and DeAndre Abram with 8 points each. In the second game of the day, the Mustangs showed heart and resiliency in a 59-55 win over Mesquite. Leading scorers were DeAndre Abram with 13 points and Will Romaine with 12. Creekview’s record is now 5-6. The Mustangs will continue tournament action tomorrow at Allen at 4:00 versus Rowlett.

All Three Mustang Teams Open District with a Win


The Creekview Mustangs varsity opened the district season with a win against Forney. The final score was 48-37. Leading scorer was Will Romaine with 14 points. Larry Hughes had 8. The varsity record is now 4-5 overall and 1-0 in district.

                The JV opened district with a dominating 57-23 win. Leading scorers were Keimone Davis with 18 points and Brendan Arnold with 13. The JV record is now 4-6 overall and 1-0 in district.

                The freshman Mustangs also won going away by a score of 57-16. Augustine Ene led the freshmen with 17 points while Adrian Munoz had 11. The freshman record improves to 8-2 and 1-0 in district. The varsity will play in the Allen Tournament starting on December 26th while all three teams continue district play on December 31st at Mesquite Poteet.

Creekview Results vs. Hebron


The Creekview varsity and JV basketball teams traveled to take on cross-town rival Hebron tonight. The varsity gave the defending 5A Regional Finalists all they could handle, but came up on the short end of a 50-42 score. Leading scorer for the Mustangs was Desmond Funches with 12 points. Tre Kidd, Destin Ogueri, and DeAndre Abram all finished with 8. Creekview’s record is now 3-5.

                The JV lost to Hebron tonight 55-34. Leading scorer was Carson Hudspeth with 12 points, and Brendan Arnold had 7. The JV record is now 3-6. All three teams open district Friday afternoon at home vs. Forney.

9th and JV Results from the Creekview Classic

        The Creekview 9/JV Classic was a huge success as the proceeds from the tournament contributed to the overall basketball program. In addition, both Creekview teams played well. The JV fought strong, but lost to tough opponents in the first two rounds. However, they put everything together and won comfortably against Naaman Forest on Saturday.
      The 9th grade team had two dominating wins in the first two rounds of the tournament, advancing to the championship game on Saturday. In a well-played back and forth game, the Mustangs fell one point short to a talented Plano Clark team. The 9th grade team represented the host school with pride, earning the second place trophy.
