The Creekview Mustang varsity basketball team clinched a
spot in the Class 5A playoffs with a 66-37 win over Thomas Jefferson. Leading
the team in scoring was Augustine Ene with 21 points. Micaiah Livingston added
11, Conner Brubaker scored 9, and Tre Kidd had 8 Points. The win improves the
varsity record to 15-9 overall and 8-2 in district.
After
being down at the half the JV Mustangs held Thomas Jefferson’s JV to 8 points
for the entire half, holding them to 19 percent shooting and forcing 15
turnovers. The final score was 53-32. With this victory the JV’s district
record improves to 5- 4 and 7-14 overall. D’Emrik Bradford-Thomas led the team
in scoring with 20 points, while Jonathan Arce scored 10.
The
freshman Mustangs defeated Thomas Jefferson by a score of 58-20. The leading
scorer was Bo’Mari Bell with 17points. The freshman Mustangs are 13-9 overall
and 9-1 in the district. All three teams travel to Forester Field House to take
on Woodrow Wilson Friday night.
