In a game slowed down in tempo by Hillcrest, the Creekview
Varsity boys’ basketball team showed patience, discipline, and outstanding
defense in achieving a 46-34 team win to complete the first round of district
play. Leading scorer was Augustine Ene with 13 points. Tre Kidd and Micaiah
Livingston each scored 7 in the victory. The win improves the varsity’s overall
record to 12-9 and 5-2 in district play.
In the
JV game, the Mustangs came up short to Hillcrest by a score of 54-37. Johnathan
Arce led the JV in scoring, whose overall record is now 5-14 overall and 3-4 in
district.
The
freshman Mustangs defeated Hillcrest by a score of 45-12. The leading scorer
was Bo ‘Mari Bell with 11 points. Tony Owens contributed 8 points in the
victory. The freshman team is now 10-9 overall and 6-1 in district. The JV
and varsity will begin the second round of district against North Dallas at
Cobb Field House on Tuesday.
