In a great game between cross-town rivals, the Creekview
varsity basketball team lost a heartbreaker to Newman Smith 46-44 in overtime.
Leading scorers were Tre Kidd with 15 points, Nate Bady with 11, and Micaiah
Livingston with 10. The varsity record is now 10-9 overall and 3-2 in district.
In the JV game, the Mustangs fought hard but came up short to Smith by a score
of 65-53. Their record is now 5-12 overall and 3-2 in district. Jonathan Arce
led the scoring with 16 and Bill Diop scored 13 points and had 9 rebounds.
The freshman Mustangs lost to Smith by a score of 47-38. Leading scorer was
Bo’Mari Bell with 11 points. Ali Kabani added 9. All three teams are home
against Conrad Tuesday night.
