The Creekview Mustang Boys’ varsity basketball team gave
state-ranked Woodrow Wilson all it could handle in a battle for first place in
District 11-5A. However, Woodrow made some key plays late and pulled away for a
50-42 victory. Leading scorer for Creekview was DeAndre Abram with 19 points.
The varsity record is now 10-8 overall and 3-1 in district.
In the
JV game, Creekview remained undefeated in district play with a 68-56 win over
Woodrow. Leading the JV in scoring were Zavier Ramirez and Nate Bady with 15
points each. Also scoring in double digits were Brailon Cook with 14 points and
Ben Long with 10. The JV record improves to 13-5 overall and 4-0 in district.
In the
freshman game, the Mustangs fell to Woodrow Wilson by a score of 35-20.
Marquell Phillips led the freshmen in scoring with 10 points. The freshman
record is now 7-7 overall and 2-1 in district. All three teams will host Newman
Smith on Friday in the annual Coaches’ vs. Cancer game.
