The Creekview Mustang Varsity basketball team took on Newman
Smith in the annual Coaches vs. Cancer game tonight. After leading in the first
half, the experienced Smith team pulled away in the second half for a 58-43
win. Leading scorers for the Mustangs were DeAndre Abram with 20 points and
Destin Ogueri with 8. The Creekview record is now 7-12 overall and 3-4 in
district.
The JV played
extremely hard but lost 42-37. Leading scorers were Keimone Davis with 12 points
and Brendan Arnold with 9. The JV overall record is 5-11 and 2-5 in district.
The
freshman team dominated Newman Smith with a great team effort and won 46-9.
Their record now improves to 13-3 overall and 6-1 in district. All three teams
start the second half of district Tuesday at Forney.
