The Creekview Mustang Varsity basketball team came out
tonight vs. Mesquite Poteet and earned a much needed 51-42 victory. It was a
total team effort by the Mustangs, avenging an earlier loss in the district
season. Leading scorers for Creekview were Ranjit Mason with 16 points and
Desmond Funches with 14. The win improves the Mustangs’ overall record to 9-12
and 5-4 in district.
In the
JV game, Creekview held on for a 36-33 win. Leading scorers were Keimone Davis
with 15 points and Jarmez Zuber with 11. Elijah Dantzler sealed the victory
with two clutch free throws. The JV record is now 7-12 and 4-5 in district.
The
freshman team continued their winning ways with a 43-28 victory over Poteet.
Augustine Ene led the team with 10 points. The freshman record improves to 15-3
and 8-1 in district. All three teams play at Highland Park Tuesday night.
