The Creekview Mustangs varsity basketball team opened
competition in the Allen Holiday Tournament today. Playing against the 18th-ranked
5A team in the state and the tournament host, Creekview got behind early and
couldn’t rebound in a 66-40 loss to Allen. Leading scorers were Ranjit Mason,
Desmond Funches, and DeAndre Abram with 8 points each. In the second game of
the day, the Mustangs showed heart and resiliency in a 59-55 win over Mesquite.
Leading scorers were DeAndre Abram with 13 points and Will Romaine with 12. Creekview’s
record is now 5-6. The Mustangs will continue tournament action tomorrow at
Allen at 4:00 versus Rowlett.
